The Stoke Series of Online Poker 2005

The Stoke Series of Online Poker (SSOOP) is a series of 9 online poker events. Each event winner receives a bracelet substitute and entry into the championship freeroll event, to be played live on December 10th.

The championship game will be played mostly for the glory, and a trophy. In addition, 50% of all the affiliate commission we receive from Poker Stars during the event will go into the prize pool, along with the money we receive from our generous sponsors. We will announce regular updates on the current prize pool value in the forum, here.

Stoke Poker is a local group of people who enjoy playing poker. Most of us began playing online and have since set up a number of live home games. The SSOOP is designed to appeal to both our existing members and anyone who might be interested in joining our community. Feel free to join in, even if you're not from the Stoke area. But do bear in mind that if you win an online event, you'll be expected to come along to the live final!

How to Take Part

All games, apart from the live championship event, will be played on Poker Stars. If you do not already have an account, please use this link to sign up: http://www.pokerstars.com/?source=stokepoker.com

The SSOOP tournaments are located in the "private" section of the Poker Stars lobby. Bear in mind that the clock on Poker Stars runs five hours behind UK time, so a 3pm game will be listed as starting at 10:00.

You will need a password to register for each tournament. Passwords will be posted in our forum, or you can email ssoop@stokepoker.com.

Event 1 League Format Each player may play up to five of the seven scheduled league games. Only your first five games played will count towards the league table. Players starting this event up to game 3 will still be able to play five qualifying games. To participate in Event 1, you must register by sending an email to ssoop@stokepoker.com before your first game. The top five finishing registered players only are awarded points, regardless of the number of participants. 1st=6pts, 2nd=4pts, 3rd=3pts, 4th=2pts, 5th=1pt In the event of a tie for first place, one further tournament will be arranged at a mutually convenient time to determine the event winner. No other ties will be broken. Game dates (all 8pm): Mon Oct 10th, Tue Oct 18th, Wed Oct 26th, Thu Nov 3rd, Fri Nov 11th, Sat Nov 19th, Sun Nov 27th. View the league table and game results here Championship Event Qualification A player winning two or more events will receive a 50% chip bonus in the championship event. Only one bonus will be awarded per player. Any resulting spare seats in the championship event will awarded firstly to the runner up in Event 1, then to the runner up in Event 9. If required to fill nine seats, a wildcard drawing will take place between all other event runners up. No chip bonus will be awarded to an event winner who also qualifies for a seat as a runner up.
